You are already building your career. Travel & Tourism generated 277 million jobs (1 in 11 jobs) for the global economy in 2014. Is also one of the leading employers in Europe, with an estimated 14 million direct employees in 2014, exceeding the number of jobs created in other sectors. If the indirect and induced impacts are also included, then tourism supported 35 million jobs in 2014, which is about one in every eleven jobs across the region.

Looking ahead over the next decade, the long term prospects for European travel & tourism remain very encouraging. Over the next ten years, WTTC’s forecasts project that Travel & Tourism will support 347 million jobs around the world (126 million directly – over 25 million more direct jobs than in 2013). The growth in Travel & Tourism employment, at over 4% per year for the next ten years, will bring about enormous development across the world (World Travel & Tourism Council, 2015).
